More women are turning to marijuana to deal with health problems, according to new research.
An annual report that monitors substance use found that more than 44% of young adult women reported using marijuana in 2023.
The findings show a continued rise in use among women, according to the report.
Separate research from the National Institutes of Health says marijuana is the most commonly used drug during pregnancy.
That use continues despite warnings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about potential health risks, the study states.
Health officials have cautioned against marijuana use during pregnancy because of those risks.
