(WFRV) – A Neenah Middle School staff member who was charged with possession of THC and possession of a controlled substance agreed to a plea deal to conclude his ongoing case.
According to court records, 46-year-old Benjamin Schmidt’s THC possession charge was dropped as part of his no-contest plea to possession of a controlled substance, both of which are misdemeanors.

As a result of his plea, he was given a deferred sentence for the misdemeanor possession charge. Schmidt must complete a nine-month Drug and Alcohol Assessment/Treatment program.
Schmidt was placed on leave following the arrest in late December 2025.
