Lewisburg, Pa. — Bucknell University police say they charged the owner of a Lewisburg gift shop for allegedly selling marijuana to a confidential informant on campus.
Kurt D. Reichenbach, 56, of Spring Mills, allegedly sold a quarter-ounce of marijuana to the informant the evening of April 18.
Sergeant Steve Persing of Bucknell University police had previously talked with the informant, who told them Reichenbach had been selling marijuana. Reichenbach owns the Grasshopper Gift Shop on Market Street, according to the affidavit.
Shortly after 6 p.m., the informant met with Reichenbach at a campus parking lot while police observed. Persing saw Reichenbach pull into the lot in a Toyota sedan. The informant walked up to the driver’s side window and gave Reichenbach the money. Reichenbach handed the informant a small black cylinder-shaped container which police later found contained marijuana, according to the affidavit.
Reichenbach pulled out of the parking lot and was stopped by police on University Avenue. Police conducted a search of Reichenbach’s person and found the $60 informant gave him.
Reichenbach’s car was impounded and police obtained a search warrant. During the search, police found a mason jar with a plastic Ziploc bag with marijuana and several jars with marijuana. Police also found a glass smoking pipe with burned residue, according to the affidavit.
Reichenbach was charged with felony manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor counts of possession through the office of District Judge Jeffrey A. Rowe. Bail was set at $50,000 unsecured. A preliminary hearing is set for May 28.
