GLYNN COUNTY, G.A. (WITN) – Former ECU defensive back Ja’Marley Riddle was arrested in Georgia earlier this month on drug and speeding charges, as detailed in a police report obtained by WGIG 98.7 FM.
Riddle transferred from East Carolina University to the University of Georgia after two seasons with ECU. He was arrested on May 8 along a Georgia interstate.
According to Glynn County police, an undercover officer spotted a Dodge Durango weaving through traffic and clocked the SUV at 100 mph.
A police report shows that Riddle seemed “very nervous” during a conversation with officers. Officers say they also smelled marijuana from the car.
After a search, police said they seized packages of a leafy substance stating marijuana, and THC vape products inside a backpack in the back seat.
The 19-year-old Riddle was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor speeding.
He has posted bond on all three charges.
