READING, Pa. – A Reading man is facing drug and gun charges following an investigation by county detectives.
In February of 2026, investigators from the Berks County Drug Task Force received information regarding the sale of bulk quantities of marijuana from an individual residing in the 500 block of Moss Street in Reading.
Detectives initiated an investigation which allegedly led to numerous purchases of marijuana from 21-year-old Yobani Murillo-Zavala.
A search warrant was authorized and officers from the task force, along with Pennsylvania State Police, took Murillo-Zavala into custody.
Police say the following items were seized as a result of the search:
Approximately nine (9) lbs. of bulk marijuana (est. “street value” is $30,000.00)
Numerous baggies of packaged marijuana prepared for “street sales”
Loaded .45 caliber handgun
$8,650.00 in U.S. currency
Murillo-Zavala was transported to the Berks County Central Processing Center to await arraignment.
