HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. — An investigation into an illegal marijuana cultivation business led to three arrests and the eradication of almost 3,000 plants, the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) said.
On Tuesday, June 9, agents with the drug task force, joined by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office Problem Oriented Police team and Marijuana Enforcement Team, served search warrants at three locations in Garberville.
The sheriff's office said the first location, in the 400 block of Melville Road, turned up over 28 pounds of processed marijuana, packaging materials and a large amount of cash. Agents also found two people, Ulises Roman Contreras and Aracley Motheral, on the property.
At the second location, in the 900 block of Springview Lane, the HCDTF said agents found Marisa Caprra, as well as 229.3 pounds of processed marijuana, pay-and-owe sheets, packaging materials, industrial scales and a large amount of cash.
At the third location, in the 300 block of Twin Trees Road, agents reportedly found an illegal marijuana grow with 2,075 growing "marijuana clones" and 421 growing marijuana plants. The HCDTF said all plants have been eradicated.
The three people contacted, Contreras, Motheral and Capra, were arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for maintaining a location to sell narcotics/controlled substances, possession of marijuana for sale, cultivation of marijuana and conspiracy.
