CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. — We are looking into changes made to state law in Georgia after Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill expanding medical cannabis access.
The measure is known as "Putting Georgia's Patients First Act."
It removes the previous THC potency cap and replaces it with a legal possession limit for registered patients.
The new law also adds new health conditions to the list of qualifying medical ailments.

According to the Georgia Medical Cannabis Society, a milligram dosing system will now be used to determine how much medical cannabis is legal.
The society says plant material that is now allowed can be used to make vapor.
Before this change, Georgia law said the legal limit was only less than five percent of THC, and the only products that were allowed were from low quantity products like oil, lotion, and capsules.
