The Delaware Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement is warning Delawareans of a scam.
They said someone has been leaving flyers and business cards targeting University of Delaware students and Newark residents.
They promote a legitimate dispensary called Fresh Delaware; however, the imposters attempt to mislead customers into purchasing pot illegally through a delivery service.
No licensed recreational marijuana dispensary in the First State is permitted to deliver marijuana or marijuana products. The only permitted deliveries are to qualified medical marijuana patients.
Anyone with information is asked to call DATE’s Marijuana Enforcement Unit.
Legal sales of recreational marijuana for adults at licensed establishments began August 1 in Delaware.
