Texans enrolled in the Compassionate Use Program can now access medical cannabis vaporization products for the first time. The new inhalable option offers qualifying patients a fast-acting alternative to traditional forms of medical cannabis, such as tinctures and gummies.
Texas Original, the state’s first Texas-based medical marijuana dispensary, recently launched medical marijuana vaporization devices, expanding the treatment options available to qualifying patients.
How to access medical cannabis vaporization
Texans interested in learning more can schedule an appointment with a physician registered in the Texas Compassionate Use Program to determine whether they qualify for a prescription.
If approved, the physician will write a prescription that is submitted digitally, allowing patients to access medical cannabis often the same day without waiting for a physical medical marijuana card.
Patients can place an order or pick up their medicine at one of Texas Original's locations across the state. New patients receive 20 percent off their first order, and veterans and first responders receive 20 percent off every purchase.
What to know about medical marijuana vaporization in Texas
Unlike edibles or tinctures, vaporization delivers medical cannabis through inhalation. Because vaporized cannabis is absorbed through the lungs rather than the digestive system, patients may feel effects within minutes. This can be especially beneficial for individuals managing sudden or breakthrough symptoms.

How medical cannabis became legal in Texas
Medical cannabis has been legal in Texas since the Compassionate Use Act passed in 2015. In 2025, House Bill 46 marked the largest expansion in the program since its creation, broadening patient access by adding chronic pain as a qualifying condition and authorizing new product formats, including vaporization devices.
Who can access medical cannabis in Texas?

Looking to lose weight without losing your shirt? Budget-friendly Dallas gym chain EōS Fitness is debuting its first San Antonio location at 8600 Fourwinds Dr. in Windcrest on June 11.
The nearly 40,000-square-foot fitness center is the first of three Eōs gyms planned for the area. The chain has also announced outposts at 2838 N Loop 1604 W and 11761 Bandera Rd.
EōS Fitness prides itself on being the most cost-effective gym this side of a home resistance band set. Billing itself as “High Value. Low Price,” its cheapest membership — "Will Do" — costs only $9.99 a month. It includes access to basic strength and cardio equipment, as well as one free physical therapy session.
According to Dave Reisman, chief growth officer at EōS Fitness, the Alamo City locations will have “recovery innovative options, high-tech strength machines, and signature amenities in a high-energy environment with friendly, knowledgeable fitness experts ready to assist.”
The facility will also include The Set, a studio-style space for content creators, outfitted with cutting-edge strength equipment and custom lighting to deliver an “aesthetic fitness experience.” Other amenities include MOVEōS Cinema, a theater setup where patrons can watch films while doing cardio, and the Evolt 360 Body Composition Scanner, a possibly nerve-wracking assessment of more than 40 fitness measurements.
After a workout, members can enjoy wellness features such as saunas, hot tubs, cold plunges, cryo loungers, and a recovery room with massage chairs and ambient lighting.
EōS Fitness was founded in 2015 by CEO Rich Drengberg, who started working the front desk at gyms in the ‘80s before launching his own. With 16 locations across Texas and a goal of 250 nationwide by 2030, it’s one of the fastest-growing fitness chains in the country, surpassing 1 million memberships in 2023.
The chain was acquired by BRS and Co. in 2016, and its net worth is estimated to be around $1 billion. After moving to Dallas from Phoenix, Arizona, in 2022, the company started a massive push into the Texas market, often repurposing closed gym spaces like the former Gold's Gym on Bandera Road.
