Two issues that could shape the town’s future finances and development generated the most discussion during the June 4 Pinetop-Lakeside Town Council meeting: renewal of the town’s Home Rule authority and proposed changes to marijuana dispensary regulations.

Two issues that could shape the town’s future finances and development generated the most discussion during the June 4 Pinetop-Lakeside Town Council meeting: renewal of the town’s Home Rule authority and proposed changes to marijuana dispensary regulations.
While both items ultimately moved forward, council members, staff and residents spent considerable time debating what level of local control the town should exercise and how state law affects those decisions.
