NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Mt. Juliet Police Department said a Nashville man was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana.
Officers stopped a vehicle on Lebanon Road near the county line for a window tint violation.
During the stop, officers learned that the driver, a 35-year-old Nashville man, was driving on a revoked license and was on probation for domestic assault, MJPD said.
Further investigation led to the discovery of “a quantity of marijuana packaged for resale and an AR-style rifle” hidden in the Nashville man’s vehicle, MJPD said. The driver was a convicted felon, so he is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Additionally, MJPD said four children — ages 12, 11, 5 and 4 — were in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
The driver was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule VI (marijuana) for resale, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, driving on a revoked license and four counts of child endangerment.
MJPD said officers also made a referral to the Department of Children’s Services.
