Curaleaf opens its second Erie County medical marijuana dispensary – Erie Times-News
There’s a new option to purchase medical marijuana in the Erie area.
Curaleaf Holdings, which operates a dispensary at 7891 Peach St., just north of Interstate 90 in Summit Township, recently opened a second Erie County location.
The new dispensary, at 4934 West Ridge Road, Millcreek Township, held a grand opening event on Dec. 27. Curaleaf Millcreek is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The opening of the new location comes a little less than seven years after Erie’s first dispensary, Rise, opened at 2108 W. Eighth St.
Today, there are five licensed dispensaries in Erie County, including the new location on West Ridge Road. Other locations include Rise dispensaries on West Eighth and 1950 Rotunda Drive, the Curaleaf location on Peach Street and Sunnyside Medical Cannabis Dispensary at 7851 Peach St.
Curaleaf, based in Stamford, Connecticut, operates 159 dispensaries nationwide.
After the addition of the new Millcreek location, offset by the recent closure of its Bradford location, the number of Curaleaf dispensaries in Pennsylvania is unchanged at 18.
“Adding a second dispensary in Erie marks an important step in how we continue to evolve our retail footprint in Pennsylvania,” Boris Jordan, CEO of Curaleaf, said in a statement.
“This new location allows us to deliver a more convenient, welcoming and elevated experience for patients, while expanding access to our trusted brands and award-winning product innovation,” he said.
