BELHAVEN, N.C. (WITN) – An Ocracoke man has been arrested after police say he had drugs and a gun in his car on school premises.
Today, police were called to reports of a suspicious vehicle on the campus of Pungo Christian Academy.
Officers say they then seized a gun and marijuana from a cream-colored GMC Yukon containing people who weren’t students.
Quentin Brooks, identified as the driver, was charged with possession of a firearm on educational property and possession of marijuana.
The 20-year-old was taken to Beaufort County Jail on a $3,000 secured bond.
The school went on a short lockdown while officers cleared the area.
Police say there is no ongoing threat to the school or the public.
