JUPITER, Fla. — A man was taken into custody early Friday morning in Jupiter following an incident that resulted in assault and drug-related charges, according to an arrest report released by local authorities.
The suspect was identified as Bryan DelgadoVillatoro, a white male, in Report No. 461215, filed by the Jupiter Police Department. Police said Mr. DelgadoVillatoro was arrested on suspicion of simple assault involving an intentional threat to commit violence and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis.
Authorities did not release details describing the circumstances that led to the arrest, including the nature of the alleged threat or how officers came into contact with the suspect. The report also did not specify the date of the alleged incident or list Mr. DelgadoVillatoro’s date of birth.
Under Florida law, an assault charge can stem from a credible threat of violence, even in the absence of physical contact, while possession of a small amount of marijuana remains a criminal offense despite evolving attitudes toward cannabis nationwide.
As with all criminal cases, the charges outlined in the arrest report are allegations, and Mr. DelgadoVillatoro is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Boca Raton Tribune will continue to monitor court records and official filings and will publish updates as additional information becomes available.
