WATCH: Shootout at Memphis apartments leads to man’s arrest, 90 pounds of marijuana found, US Marshals say
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A shootout investigation this week at an apartment complex in the High Point Terrace neighborhood led to a man’s arrest and the discovery of 90 pounds of marijuana, according to the US Marshals Service.
The Memphis Police Department (MPD) had previously said a shots fired call came at the Greenline Apartments on Highland Street just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a second call at 1 a.m. Wednesday. Though police said no one was hurt, the investigation lasted for more than 10 hours.

In a report released Thursday, the US Marshals said that while officers were at the apartment complex to investigate the shots fired call, they noticed an apartment window that appeared to have been shot up. The officers went inside the apartment after getting no response to “check for signs of life” and encountered a man later identified as Dontario Woody, the agency said.
The agency said Woods told investigators he lived there. After officers spotted a gun “in plain view,” they obtained a search warrant and found three handguns and over a pound of marijuana in Woody’s home, the US Marshals said.
The US Marshals later found 90 pounds of weed, six firearms and about $5,00 in cash at several units.
Records show Wood is out of jail after posing a $15,000 bond.
