According to authorities, detectives were following up on a tip regarding a suspected cargo theft involving JBL speakers worth about $500,000 that were taken from a shipping container.
An arrest report said a GPS tracking device that was in one of the speaker boxes showed they were at a warehouse in Doral.
Using surveillance video, the report said, detectives saw a large pallet that had four boxes outside the fence line of the warehouse, and they saw Blackwood parked in a car next to the pallet. Blackwood was then seen getting out of the car and trying to load the boxes into his car.
When detectives in plain clothes approached Blackwood, he ran away on foot, but then fell between a parked vehicle and the fence, and he was taken into custody, the report said.

As he was being questioned, the report said, detectives smelled marijuana coming from the boxes, and when they opened the boxes, they found around 201 vacuum-sealed bags that weighed about 233 pounds.
The report said detectives also found a shopping bag in Blackwood’s car that had money that was wrapped in rubber bands, and a wallet was also found in the car.
The total amount of money found was $36,158.
Blackwood was then taken to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office headquarters and then booked into jail.
