Michael McCrea was jailed under a $15,000 bond
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A former JROTC instructor at T.C. Roberson High School has been arrested on indecent liberties charges.
Michael McCrea was charged with indecent liberties with a student after an investigation by the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began Nov. 13, and McCrea was taken into custody on Monday, Nov. 18. He was jailed under a $15,000 bond.
McCrea was a JROTC instructor at the school from Oct. 1, 2018, until Nov. 13, a spokesperson for Buncombe County Schools said.
“The safety of our students is always our top priority. We appreciate our valued law enforcement partners of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office working closely with our school administrators,” the district said in a statement.
