MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A man was arrested after shooting at a Memphis apartment led to a drug discovery.
Officers with the Memphis Safe Task Force responded to shots fired at North Highland Street at Greenline Apartments on Tuesday night.
Officers stated they saw the front window of one apartment appeared to be hit multiple times by gunfire.
Officers knocked on the apartment’s door to ensure the safety of those inside.
After no response, officers entered the apartment to check for “signs of life.”
Upon entering, officers encountered 29-year-old Dontario Woody, who told police he lived there.
A gun was spotted in plain view, officers say, which led to officers getting a search warrant for unit.
Officers found two additional handguns and over a pound of marijuana in the apartment.
Memphis Safe Task Force agents later found approximately 90 pounds of marijuana, six firearms and $5,000.
Woody was taken into custody on a $15,000 bond.
