DAYTON, Ky (WXIX) -Kentucky’s first operational medical marijuana processing facility has opened up in Dayton.
Officials with Bison Processing (Bison Infused Kentucky, LLC) say they will convert Kentucky-grown cannabis into safe, lab-tested medical products like tinctures, edibles, and topicals for patients in the Kentucky Medical Cannabis Program.
Many Kentucky leaders attended the ribbon-cutting Thursday, including Gov. Andy Beshear and Dayton’s Mayor Ben Baker.
“Team Kentucky approved our first processor, Bison Infused in Dayton,” the governor said in a press conference Thursday.
“The City of Dayton is proud to welcome Bison Processing to our business community,” said Dayton Mayor Ben Baker. “We made a deliberate choice to opt in and support this industry because we believe in the medical benefits it brings to our citizens and the economic revitalization it brings to our city. This facility represents the future of Dayton: innovative, compassionate, and forward-thinking.”
The facility located on Second Avenue is only a processing center. They do not sell medical marijuana products on site, and it is not open to the public.
