Weed Friendly Basketball Watch Party at Catalyst Hawthorne – Respect My Region
Respect My Region is teaming up with Basketball Watch Club and Claybourne Co. to bring Hoops Night to Los Angeles, a weed friendly basketball watch party happening Thursday, January 29 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Catalyst dispensary and consumption lounge in Hawthorne, CA. Hosted inside the licensed consumption lounge, the event brings together live basketball, local community, and cannabis culture in a relaxed, social setting built for hoops fans.
This first ever Hoops Night brings together college basketball, women’s college basketball, and NBA action in a social, cannabis-friendly lounge environment designed for Los Angeles–area basketball fans. The watch party event offers a shared viewing experience centered on live games, cannabis culture, and community.
Lucas Shapiro, the creator of Basketball Watch Club, shared that “This event is about pushing the boundaries of what a watch party can look like. By partnering with Catalyst and Respect My Region, we’re creating a unique environment that blends basketball, culture, and community in a way that isn’t being done anywhere else. Where else can you find basketball fans coming together to connect, vibe, and watch the game like this?”
At our first ever Los Angeles basketball watch party, multiple games will air simultaneously throughout the night, including nationally recognized NCAA matchups and a marquee NBA showdown. The lounge features three 100 inch televisions, four 60 inch televisions, free arcade games, and video games such as Atari, Sony Playstation original, PS3, and PS5.
Claybourne and Catalyst have united to offer great deals in the dispensary and a tasting experience inside of the lounge. Pre-rolled joints, edibles, beverages, and cannabis flower are all available and super affordable at the dispensary. We highly recommend supporting Claybourne Co. and their products.
The event is 21+ with valid ID, and proof of purchase at the Catalyst Hawthorne dispensary is required for admission.
Featured games for the night include:
Doors open at 3:00 PM. RSVP here
Catalyst Lounge is located at 14115 Crenshaw Blvd, Hawthorne, CA, serving as a hub for cannabis-friendly events and sports-centered experiences in Los Angeles County.
Hoops Night continues Respect My Region’s expansion into live sports watch parties, cannabis-friendly events, and culture-driven programming across Southern California. Basketball Watch Club, led by Lucas, focuses on building community around basketball through in-person viewing experiences and cultural connection.
“Hoops Night reflects how many fans actually want to watch basketball, and sports in general. Lots of people are giving up alcohol and are tired of the same bar experiences. Folks want to hang out together in spaces that don’t have alcohol. They want a space with good vibes and friendly energy, music, and now that there’s so many states with legal cannabis, people want varying forms of cannabis available too.” said Joey Brabo, Partner and COO at Respect My Region. “By creating a cannabis-friendly environment, we’re meeting fans where culture and sports already overlap.”
The event is supported by Catalyst Lounge and Claybourne Co., reinforcing a shared commitment to sports culture, cannabis-friendly hospitality, and live entertainment in the Los Angeles area.
