Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who was President Donald Trump’s first pick for attorney general during this term, said he has been told the Drug Enforcement Administration is drafting a marijuana rescheduling rule “and moving it ASAP.”
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is seeking White House approval for updates to a series of hemp forms it distributes to farmers and regulators to better understand the state of the industry.
West Virginia’s House speaker said President Donald Trump’s federal marijuana rescheduling order could boost efforts to enact cannabis reform at the state level.
The Delaware House Health & Human Development Committee approved a bill to decriminalize public use of marijuana—which if enacted would change the fact that Delaware is the only cannabis legalization state in the U.S. that still imposes the threat of jail time for such consumption.
The New Hampshire House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee held a hearing on a proposed constitutional amendment to put the issue of marijuana legalization on the November ballot for voters to decide.
Nebraska senators filed a bill that advocates fear would allow the Medical Cannabis Commission strip rights and protections from patients.
