Jacksonville man on pre-trial release arrested for stealing marijuana cigarette from dispensary – Alachua Chronicle

Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Travis Harold Bean, 52, of Jacksonville, was arrested yesterday on a warrant for stealing a marijuana cigarette from a dispensary in November.
A Gainesville Police Department officer reported that at about 8:25 a.m. on November 16, 2025, Bean entered the Mint Cannabis marijuana dispensary (318 NW 13th Street) and asked an employee to pre-roll some marijuana cigarettes.
The employee reported that he gave Bean a cylindrical container with 20 pre-rolled cigarettes that required a medical prescription; Bean allegedly took one of the cigarettes, valued at $5, smoked it in the store, and then walked out without paying. The employee said he told Bean he was banned from the store forever.
Bean allegedly returned to the store several minutes later and demanded the rest of the marijuana cigarettes, but the employee refused to give them to him and told Bean that the police were looking for him; Bean allegedly turned hostile and tried to jump over the counter. He then sat in his vehicle outside the store, playing loud music.
The officer arrested Bean at the scene, but Bean claimed to have a medical crisis and was transported to a hospital. The officer filed a sworn complaint on November 19, and Judge David Kreider issued a warrant for his arrest on December 1, setting bail at $60,000.
Bean has been charged with grand theft of a controlled substance and trespassing after a warning. At the time of the incident, Bean was on pre-trial release in Duval County for allegedly chasing a food delivery driver with a car jack and then breaking windows on the driver’s vehicle. Last week, Bean entered into a Veterans Court pre-trial diversion program in that case.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Too bad he doesn’t have to appear before Judge Roy Bean
Gosh, what attracted him here to Gainesville, anyone know?
