Teenager held at airport over 15.5 kilos of marijuana – eKathimerini.com

A teenager has been arrested at Athens International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle 15.5 kilograms of marijuana into the country on behalf of an international ring, police said Wednesday.
A police statement said the 19-year-old was taken into custody after he arrived on an international flight Tuesday, following a targeted operation in which officers from the northern town of Katerini participated. The drugs were found in his luggage.
Police said the suspect is believed to have worked for a ring that specialized in flying drugs into Greece.
The arrest came one week after a 31-year-old man — again allegedly a member of an international smuggling ring — was arrested at Athens airport with 8.2 kilograms of marijuana in his luggage.
