Authorities confiscate $1.4M worth of weed in Brooklyn bust – Brooklyn Eagle
PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDENS — A JAN. 30 RAID ON AN ILLEGAL cannabis dispensary set up right next door to a children’s daycare center in Prospect Lefferts Gardens yielded over 220 pounds of marijuana in vacuum-sealed bags, along with edibles, concentrates, and pre-rolls.
The goods had a street value totaling over $1.4 million, according to a release by the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. OCM’s Enforcement and Investigations Division executed a court-issued Access Order at 645 Rogers Ave. following a complaint from neighborhood residents. The location was also issued a Notice of Violation and padlocked.
“Actions like these help restore confidence in our regulated market and keep these communities safe, which is our top priority,” Daniel Haughney, OCM’s director of Enforcement and Investigations, said in a release. A similar raid took place in Rhinebeck, New York, on Jan. 10, the agency said.
