THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Authorities with the Davidson Anti-Drug Regional Task Force arrested a Thomasville man after seizing 5,320 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of $100,000 during a traffic stop Tuesday.
Investigators stopped a vehicle on Fisher Ferry Street near West Main Street as part of a collaborative operation with the Forsyth County Drug Task Force. A search of the car revealed the package of marijuana.
Lajarvis Quinn Shankle, 34, was charged with two counts of trafficking marijuana and one count of felony larceny. He was held at the Davidson County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court Wednesday.
The Davidson Anti-Drug Regional Task Force (DART) is a partnership among the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Thomasville Police Department, Lexington Police Department, and the State Bureau of Investigation. The multi-agency task force works to combat illegal narcotics, disrupt drug trafficking networks, and enhance public safety through intelligence-driven enforcement.
