YUBA CITY, Calif. — Yuba City police say they dismantled a large illegal indoor marijuana grow operation last week, seizing more than 1,700 plants from a home.
According to the Yuba City Police Department, officers served a search warrant on Feb. 18 at a home along the 3000 block of Butte House Road after getting several complaints about an illegal indoor grow.
Police received help from the department’s Investigative Unit and NET-5, the Yuba-Sutter Narcotics Enforcement Team.
Officers found what police described as a complex grow operation spread across three separate shops. In total, police said they seized 1,725 marijuana plants with a net weight of 640 pounds.
Two Yuba City residents, 59-year-old Aiyung Hu and 59-year-old Wenhua Xiao, were cited on suspicion of illegal cultivation under California Health and Safety Code 11358(c) and released, police said.
