YPSILANTI, Mich. (WILX) -A vape shop in Ypsilanti has been shut down for selling marijuana to kids, officials say.
Police raided the Ypsi Smoke and Mart after months of complaints alleging children were buying marijuana there.
Ypsilanti Police Chief Tim Anderson says some of the marijuana was packaged as to not raise red flags for unsuspecting parents.
He said not only is the shop accused of selling marijuana to minors, it turns out it wasn’t licensed to sell marijuana at all.
“We take these complaints seriously, and we’re going to investigate, and as this business we have no problem coming in and shutting you down when you’re involved in illicit and illegal activity,” Anderson said.
The county prosecutor’s office is reviewing the police report to decide if any charges will be filed.
