Victor, N.Y. — The Victor Town Planning Board is giving the green light to open a cannabis dispensary inside Eastview Mall.
The new Good Life Collective location will be located in the space between Macy's and Von Maur. The site was previously approved by Wilmorite and the state's Office of Cannabis Management.
The board's decision was not unanimous, with three members voting to approve the proposal while two voted to reject it.
Some members pressed Good Life representatives with questions on how it will manage potential marijuana use at the mall.
"To be clear, that will probably be happening whether we're here or not," one representative said. "They can easily purchase somewhere else, smoke in the parking lot and come right in."
"I'm sure Wilmorite reps can attest to the fact that there's no smoking in the mall," another representative argued. "We have 24/7 security."

Good Life representatives said this store is a new concept and there will be a period of transition. They plan to have very strict policies when it comes to IDs.
A grand opening date has not yet been announced.
