Marijuana is being recalled from six Colorado dispensaries after investigators found the presence of a banned pesticide.
According to an April 14 health and safety order from the state Marijuana Enforcement Division, two harvest batches of marijuana from Levels IV Inc. initially passed laboratory testing but were later found to have traces of the pesticide chlorfenapyr. The recalled marijuana was sold at a half-dozen different dispensaries across Colorado from September 9, 2025, to March 26 of this year.
Chlorfenapyr is an insecticide that kills mites and other bugs by disrupting energy in their cells. It has been linked to at least twelve Colorado marijuana safety advisories since June 2025.
According to the MED, Levels collaborated in what was a “voluntary recall.”
All packages of Levels marijuana have the following license number on the labeling: 403R-00235.
“Consumers who have this affected marijuana in their possession should destroy it or return it to the regulated marijuana store from which it was purchased for proper disposal. Consumers who experience adverse health effects from consuming the Regulated Marijuana should seek medical attention immediately and report the event to the Marijuana Enforcement Division by submitting a MED Reporting Form,” the health and safety order reads.
Levels has since closed its cultivation; MED records show that the grow license was surrendered in February. Levels also recently operated two dispensaries in the metro area, one at 5201 West 38th Avenue in Denver and another at 389 Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood.
The former Levels in Denver is now owned by Snaxland and the Lakewood is a Fired Cannabis, both of which are local dispensary chains. Neither store was listed in the latest recall.
This is the tenth marijuana recall in Colorado this year, and the second recall connected to Levels IV Inc. since 2025.
