Dispensary plans on February opening in Oak Grove, medical cannabis facilities launch across Kentucky – Christian County Now
Blue Sage Cannabis Dispensary will open off of Exit 89 in Christian County in early 2026 following the legalization of medical marijuana in Kentucky.
OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Owned by Mallard Club LLC, Blue Sage Cannabis Dispensary announced in a news release that they are planning a soft opening in Oak Grove in February of 2026. Kentucky’s first dispensary opened earlier this month, selling out in a matter of days in Beaver Dam.
Oak Grove’s dispensary will be located at 2624 Walter Garrett Lane off of Exit 89, very close to the future Buc-ee’s location and the newly announced nine-acre car auction dealership. Extensive construction is already planned for the area to accommodate incoming traffic from the new travel center.
“As far as the traffic goes, it’s going to be interesting,” said Oak Grove Public Works Director Brian Ahart. “Construction should start sometime next year on Exit 89, adding three roundabouts and widening the bridge should help with the traffic flow when Buc-ee’s arrives.”
Ahart also told Christian County Now that traffic off of the interstate on Pembroke Oak Grove Road sees roughly 9,000 cars a day, which is expected to increase with the dispensary and Buc-ee’s. There are currently no solid plans to widen that section of the road.

Located about an hour from Hopkinsville, The Post Dispensary opened at 300 North Main Street in Beaver Dam on Dec. 13, operating as the first fully approved and licensed medical dispensary in the state. Product available was grown by Farmtucky, the first licensed cultivator to bring product to market. The Post Dispensary website says they are temporarily closed since they have already sold out of all their stock, with plans to reopen in January of 2026.
“From the moment we opened our doors, your incredible support, patience, and enthusiasm made history,” said The Post in a statement. “Thank you to every qualified patient who shopped with us, trusted us on this milestone day, and shared in the excitement of finally having safe, regulated access to medical cannabis right here in the Commonwealth.”
Patients were able to start applying for medical cannabis cards on Jan. 1, 2025. In October, representatives with KY Cannabis Solutions set up in Oak Grove to provide information about applying for a medical cannabis card and get a certification that will be used to apply for a card through the state.
“Our priority is ensuring Kentuckians suffering with serious medical conditions can have safe access to medical cannabis, as soon as possible, to get the relief they need,” said Gov. Beshear in a news release on Dec. 11. He later shared that other states where medical marijuana was legalized took up to six years to get up and running. However, facilities in Kentucky were able to start serving the public within two years.
