It’s also important to know what you can’t bring back to Florida, where medical marijuana is legal but only for residents with approved medical marijuana cards.
Here’s what you should know.
According to June 2025 data from the National Conference of State Legislatures, medical marijuana is legal in 40 states and Washington, D.C.
Recreational marijuana is legal in 24 states and Washington, D.C.
Idaho has no marijuana programs, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.
Medical marijuana is legal in Florida, but only for residents with approved medical marijuana cards or medical marijuana caregiver cards.
Be aware that you cannot smoke marijuana in public spaces in Florida, even if you have a medical marijuana card.
Recreational marijuana is against the law in Florida.
