TWIGGS COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies seized over 100 pounds of marijuana during a Twiggs County traffic stop, according to a Facebook post from the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said deputies stopped a car on Interstate 16. While approaching the car, a K-9 unit smelled narcotics, per the release.
Deputies searched the vehicle and found around 114 pounds of marijuana in duffel bags in the trunk and backseat, alongside ecstasy and a loaded handgun.
Jashad Jacobs and Kylon Citizen, two Florida residents, were arrested and taken to the Twiggs County Jail, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office commends the diligence and proactive efforts of its CSU deputies,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “Their continued commitment plays a critical role in keeping roadways safe and disrupting the distribution of illegal drugs.”
The sheriff’s office says the investigation is still ongoing.
