On Wednesday, April 15,2026, members of the Columbus Police Department Special Operations Unit, along with the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division at Fort Benning, executed a search warrant at BABA Smoke Shop located at 2111 Manchester Expressway. The search warrant was the result of an investigation initiated after receiving complaints about suspected illegal activity.
During the search, officers seized the following:
• 3,255.3 grams of marijuana (estimated street value: $32,553)
• 336.4 grams of Schedule I THC products (estimated street value: $8,410)
• $25,955 in U.S. currency
As a result of the investigation, Preetpal Singh, 32, was arrested and charged with the following:
• Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
• Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute
• Unlawfully Maintaining a Structure or Place (O.C.G.A. 16-13-42)
Additional charges are pending.
“This case began with complaints, and the Special Operations Unit, along with our partners, took action,” says Lt. Alan Malone. “When a business is being used for illegal activity, we will step in and deal with it.”
