ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WTVY) -Abbeville police charged two men with trafficking marijuana after officers said they found 24 pounds in their fleeing vehicle.
In a statement, Abbeville Police Chief Marlos Walker said the vehicle in which suspects Jaylen Tenarous Faison and Jeffrey Tayion Summerlin rode led officers on an approximately 25-mile pursuit in Henry County on Saturday that began after the driver failed to obey traffic signals.
Walker said the vehicle eventually came to a stop and, during a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana divided into one-pound bags and additional marijuana hidden in the vehicle.
The statement did not identify Faison and Summerlin’s hotel.
Police also charged the duo with attempting to elude officers, which are felonies.
