Beezwax plans to open a second Moorhead location soon at 3324 Highway 10 E., on the east edge of the city.
On a recent morning, owner Samer Waz and general manager Gabe Hernandez showed visitors around the newly opened Beezwax in downtown Moorhead.
The moment one enters the store, it becomes apparent security is a priority at the dispensary.
Guards require customers to show identification and only 10 customers are allowed in the store at any given time.
Waz said that can result in lines of customers forming outside the door waiting to be let in, but he added people don’t appear to mind the delay getting inside.
Cannabis products include pre-rolled joints, gummies and cannabis flowers, which include the harvested flower, bud, leaves and stems of a cannabis plant.
Goods are arranged in clear display cases spread around the dispensary, similar to the way items are displayed in a jewelry store.

In Minnesota, the law places limits on the THC potency of cannabis products sold to adults, with THC being the main psychoactive ingredient in cannabis.
Those limits include:

According to Waz, the product with the highest THC potency sold at Beezwax is something called Cap Junky, which Wax said has a THC content of 27.7%.
Hernandez said the most popular items sold at Beezwax are “pre-rolls” — pre-packaged joints containing a small amount of cannabis flower.
Every purchase at Beezwax comes with a free glass pipe used for smoking cannabis. Customers interested in such items can check out a separate storefront Beeswax operates in the same strip mall that specializes in cannabis paraphernalia.
According to information provided by the city of Moorhead, in addition to the new Beezwax store four other businesses are now licensed by the state of Minnesota to legally operate a cannabis dispensary.
They include: Green Goods, 800 30th Ave. S., which has a combination medical/business license; Rosebud Cannabis Co./Ediblez, 2223 Highway 10 E., which has a micro business retail license; Unwind, 3505 8th St. S., which has a micro business retail license; and the White Earth Nation’s Waabigwan Mashkiki tribal dispensary on Highway 10, which operates under a compact agreement with the state of Minnesota.
