The Department of Justice has no “comment or updates” on the cannabis rescheduling process, a spokesperson told Marijuana Moment—more than a month after President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to complete the process “in the most expeditious manner.”

Reps. Jack Bergman (R-MI) and Lou Correa (D-CA) filed a bill directing the Department of Veterans Affairs to carry out clinical trials on the therapeutic efficacy of “innovative treatments and emerging therapies”—including psychedelics such as ibogaine, 5-MeO-DMT, ketamine and psilocybin.

The Delaware Senate voted to override Gov. Matt Meyer’s (D) veto of a marijuana bill to block restrictive  business zoning rules in counties.

The Virginia House Court of Justice Committee approved a bill to provide resentencing relief for people incarcerated or on community supervision for certain marijuana offenses as lawmakers separately prepare to legalize recreational cannabis sales.

The Florida House Health Professions & Programs Subcommittee unanimously approved a bill to slash medical cannabis patient registration fees for military veterans—with the sponsor saying it will help them access “a much better way of dealing with their medical issues” than opioids.

A coalition of gun rights groups led by the Second Amendment Foundation filed a brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to strike down the federal law barring marijuana consumers from purchasing and possessing firearms as unconstitutional.

Former New York cannabis regulator Damian Fagon argues in a new Marijuana Moment op-ed that “‘craft cannabis’ functions far more as a marketing label than as a stable economic segment” and that “the erosion of small cannabis producers reflects policy design choices” that favor big companies.

The South Carolina House Judiciary Committee approved two hemp bills—one to broadly ban THC products and another that provides an exception for intoxicating cannabis beverages.

A spokesperson for Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. reacted to advocates’ frustration about the lack of Trump administration progress on psychedelics reform by saying he “shares the goal of ensuring that all Americans—especially our nation’s veterans—have access to safe and effective treatments for conditions such as PTSD, addiction, and depression.”

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) posted a video pushing back on the notion that marijuana legalization can raise revenue to support programs.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) said he is open to having conversations about allowing hemp-infused drinks, but that he will “go in with a bias” and said the products are “not necessarily comparable to alcohol.”

The Florida Senate Criminal Justice Committee approved a bill to decriminalize drug testing products.

New Mexico senators are dedicating portions of their budget allotments to the Medical Psilocybin Treatment Equity Fund.

Wisconsin senators discussed their support for regulating cannabinoid products.

Oklahoma lawmakers are considering several bills to revise medical cannabis rules this session.

Hawaii regulators are being sued over a hemp product restriction law.

Rhode Island regulators are moving to repeal outdated hemp jurisdiction rules.

Illinois regulators are extending the deadline for craft cannabis growers to become operational.

California regulators published an FAQ about the state’s hemp product restriction law.

Washington State regulators sent a newsletter with updates on various cannabis issues.

Rhode Island regulators will host a listening session about cannabis beverages on Monday.
