RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — A domestic dispute call in Richland County on Thursday led to something else entirely.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said deputies were initially responding to a domestic dispute in the 4000 block of Hardscrabble Road when deputies uncovered 10 pounds of marijuana, at least some of it in plain view in the suspect’s vehicle.
The sheriff’s department said the suspect ran but was caught a short time later. Authorities said they also found a scale and small bags in the vehicle, and photos of the seized items showed multiple bags of plant-like material, several colorfully packaged and labeled items and a small pistol.
The suspect, whose name wasn’t shared in the Richland County statement, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
