The Willimantic location opened its doors in January 2023.
WILLIMANTIC — Cannabis dispensary Fine Fettle, with several locations across Connecticut, including Willimantic, will expand medical access by converting all locations to hybrid.
This move for the dispensary will take place Thursday in accordance with a new state law.
The new law that was passed by regulations and legislation allows recreational retailers to convert to a hybrid method and sell products to registered medical patients in the Connecticut medical marijuana program.
This conversion will create new opportunities for patient access and operational efficiency across Connecticut.
Fine Fettle has nine locations in Connecticut, including Bristol, Waterbury, West Hartford, Newington, Manchester, Old Saybrook, Norwalk and Stamford.
The Willimantic location opened its doors in January 2023. Before its opening, local residents traveled out of state.
Fine Fettle was one of nine dispensaries that Connecticut approved to begin selling adult-use cannabis to adults when they opened.
“This change allows us to continue fulfilling our mission of accessible, compassionate care while strengthening the state’s medical program,” said Benjamin Zachs, COO of Fine Fettle. “By bringing all of our locations under a hybrid model, we can serve patients and customers alike – without sacrificing the quality, expertise, and personal touch that define Fine Fettle.”
Zachs added in many places where they operate, there have not been options for medical patients to increase access, but they are changing that.
Each of Fine Fettle’s locations will offer both remote and in-person consultations with licensed pharmacists.
“This is about efficiency and equity,” Zachs said. “Patients shouldn’t have to travel far for care or be stuck with limited options.”
Zachs thanked the legislature and DCP for making this new option available for its patients.
“Fine Fettle’s expansion underscores its commitment to safe, regulated, and community-focused cannabis access,” Zachs said. “With this milestone, the company continues to lead Connecticut’s evolution into a mature, inclusive cannabis market that prioritizes patient well-being, education and affordability.”
“The combination of selling medical doctor-ordered cannabis and recreational cannabis at the same dispensary will help those whose medical conditions are best treated with medical cannabis,” State Rep Susan Johnson added.
