A 19-year-old Fountain man is facing multiple charges following an arrest by Farmville police on Wednesday.
According to court documents and arrest warrants, Corey Lee Edwards Jr. was taken into custody by the Farmville Police Department on Jan. 7 and is now being held at the Pitt County Detention Center without bond.
Edwards is charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, all felonies. He also faces misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed gun and simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance.
Warrants allege Edwards unlawfully possessed a black Glock 20 Gen handgun equipped with a switch, which under North Carolina law classifies the firearm as a weapon of mass destruction.
Court documents further state Edwards allegedly possessed approximately 10 grams of marijuana in a clear plastic baggie with the intent to sell or deliver. Investigators also allege he knowingly kept and maintained a tan 2009 Buick Lucerne that was used for keeping and selling marijuana.
In addition, warrants allege Edwards carried the handgun concealed on his person while off his own premises.
Edwards is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Jan. 8.
