WACO, Texas (KWTX) – A Facebook advertisement for the sale of marijuana and illegal THC vape pens led investigators with the Texas Dept. of Public Safety to a “high-risk fugitive” and a second drug dealer, arrest warrants state.
Gavin Tramaine King, 22, is charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and theft of a firearm, a state jail felony. King is being held at the McLennan County Jail on bonds totaling $130,000.
Manuel Elijah Macias, 21, is charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance. He is being held at the McLennan County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
Special agents with the DPS Criminal Investigations Unit arrested both men on Jan. 13.
DPS was reportedly involved in an ongoing operation targeting King, wanted on a felony probation warrant out of the 54th District State Court.
According to the arrest warrant, investigators were monitoring social media pages belonging to King and Macias who “regularly post about the sale of marijuana and illegal THC vape pens.”
While surveilling an undisclosed location in McLennan County, the DPS special agents spotted King arriving at a residence in a red KIA sedan. King entered the residence, exited, and re-entered the passenger side of the KIA, the warrants state.
The DPS special agents stopped the driver of the KIA, identified in the arrest warrant as Macias, and took both men into custody without incident.
A firearm and several THC vape pens were located in the KIA’s passenger side floorboard where King had been sitting, DPS said.
“There were eight packed THC vape pens, each labeled as containing two grams of THC,” the special agents wrote in the warrant, “These were the same THC vape pens advertised by the pair on social media.”
“An additional THC vape pen was in the passenger seat as if being smoked by King,” DPS alleged in the warrant.
The firearm found in the KIA, a Taurus G2C 9mm handgun, was reported stolen and King admitted to the DPS agents that he knew the gun was stolen, the warrant further states.
Investigators documented that during their post-Miranda Warning interviews, both King and Macias admitted to being in possession of the drugs and firearm.
Macias also acknowledged to driving King to the point of sale, the warrant states.
