This is great news that the feds will reclassify marijuana. Finally, our government is adjusting to the reality that marijuana is not, and need not be, classified as a Schedule I substance, in league with LSD, heroin, ecstasy, methaqualone and peyote. Instead, it will be a Schedule III drug with codeine, ketamine, anabolic steroids and testosterone.
This reclassification will have so many positive ramifications. Law enforcement will be relieved; people will feel free to admit they imbibe to their family doctors and this honesty will only stimulate medical science to more understand the drug. The medicinal aspects of the flower will more freely studied, explored, modified, transported across state, maybe made into products of commercial value. This will surely stimulate small business with promising spin-offs. And then there is hemp farming.

So, thank you, Mr. President, for your decision. Congress would have taken at least another generation to come to this. Frankly, I don’t think democracy is really working … nothing seems to happen in Congress; all they do is quarrel and enjoy their wonderful health care and their consistent salaries — even during the times when they decide to close the government. I am for these executive orders. They actually do something.
