Man Arrested in Jupiter on Petit Theft and Marijuana Possession Charges – The Boca Raton Tribune
JUPITER — Law enforcement officers in Jupiter arrested a man Tuesday afternoon on allegations involving retail theft and drug possession, according to official booking records released by authorities.
The suspect, Sirjames Martin Garrett, a Black male, was taken into custody by the Jupiter Police Department on suspicion of petit theft, involving merchandise valued between $100 and $750, and possession of less than 20 grams of cannabis. The arrest is documented under Report No. 471254 and was formally published at 1:52 p.m. on December 30, 2025. Mr. Garrett’s date of birth was not listed in the publicly available records.
Investigators have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the alleged theft, including the location where the merchandise was taken or whether the incident involved a retail establishment or transit-related property. Under Florida law, petit theft and misdemeanor marijuana possession are commonly charged offenses that may carry fines, probation, or short-term incarceration, depending on prior criminal history and judicial discretion.
No further charges were listed at the time of publication.
As with all criminal cases, the arrest reflects allegations only. Mr. Garrett is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
