Don’t be surprised if our legislators and the governor legalize marijuana for recreational use very soon. Don’t be surprised if they add a tax on its use at the same time. This will shift the tax burden to pot users, alcohol drinkers and tobacco users through “sin” taxes so that big corporations and the wealthy won’t have to pay their fair share of taxes.
The low-income and the working-class taxpayers already pay more than their fair share of taxes so that those who can and should be paying higher taxes won’t have to.
