Patients statewide spent more than $291.1 million on medical marijuana in 2025, an increase of about $15 million over 2024 and the highest annual total since the program began in 2019, according to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. Dispensaries sold 79,223 pounds of medical marijuana during the year, up from 75,598 pounds the year before.
In Mountain Home, Plant Family Therapeutics reported selling 133.52 pounds of medical marijuana in November 2025. That was part of a month in which Arkansans spent more than $24.5 million and purchased a total of 6,689 pounds statewide.
“More than $1.6 billion has been spent at the state’s dispensaries since the industry launched in 2019,” said DFA spokesperson Scott Hardin. “The industry certainly rebounded in 2025 with a new sales record, following a decrease in sales the previous year.”
Medical marijuana purchases generated $32.3 million in state tax revenue in 2025 through the state’s sales tax and privilege tax. The Arkansas Department of Health reports more than 115,000 active patient cards statewide.
Plant Family Therapeutics opened in Mountain Home in February 2020 and remains the only medical marijuana dispensary in Baxter County, serving patients from across the region.
