Newark got its first pot of marijuana tax revenue. Here's how much – The Newark Advocate
The city of Newark has collected several hundred thousand dollars in excise tax revenue from recreational marijuana sales that began across the state in 2024.
Ohio Department of Taxation data shows Newark dispensaries have made about $18 million in sales since August 2024, when they began selling legal recreational weed to customers. There are three of them in the city, all of which also offer medical sales: Curaleaf, Sunnyside Medical Marijuana Dispensary and Zen Leaf.
