Frankfort, KY (January 20, 2026) – Frankfort’s first medical cannabis dispensary, nuEra Frankfort, will open at 11 a.m. on January 28 at 325 Leonardwood Drive, Frankfort, KY 40601, providing qualifying patients access to lab-tested, regulated cannabis products.
A Medical Necessity for Thousands of Kentuckians
“After several decades in traditional retail, I was drawn to medical cannabis in search of work that could make a more direct and meaningful impact,” said Divina Capellupo, a principal of nuEra Frankfort. “Over the past six years in the medical cannabis industry, I have seen firsthand how cannabis can be life-changing for people living with chronic and debilitating conditions. Opening nuEra Frankfort allows us to expand access to compassionate, regulated care for patients across the Commonwealth.”
Since Kentucky’s medical cannabis law went into effect on January 1, 2025, more than 23,000 medical cards have been issued to patients managing cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, PTSD and other debilitating conditions. This response highlights the need for safe, regulated access to relief when conventional treatments fall short.
Bringing a Decade of Experience to Kentucky’s Medical Market
nuEra Frankort is nuEra Cannabis’ tenth dispensary and its first in Kentucky, which will bring 15 new jobs to the Frankfort area. The four thousand square-foot dispensary, located in the bustling commercial corridor connecting Lexington and Louisville, will offer lab-tested THC cannabis products sourced from Kentucky cultivators that meet the Office of Medical Cannabis’ safety standards.
Designed with patient comfort and accessibility in mind, nuEra Frankfort is ADA accessible with a dedicated education space for private, one-on-one consultations with trained staff. The dispensary also features patient-friendly waiting and point-of-sale areas with ample seating for medical cardholders, helping them navigate Kentucky’s medical cannabis program in a supportive setting.
“As cultivators and processors get up and running in this new market, patients should expect that supply will be limited during the first few months,” said Capellupo. “We are already working with licensed operators to secure access to products as they complete their initial harvests, and availability is expected to improve steadily over time.”
