REDMOND, Ore. — In the summer, the City of Redmond approved two dispensaries to move into city limits. In December, Oregrown, one of the selected dispensaries, opened its new Redmond location. The shop was busy on Friday with customers who said the new dispensary fills a need in the city.
The owner of Oregrown, Hunter Neubauer, said he thinks the city has been ready to get its first dispensary.
“I think Redmond’s been waiting for a while. People have wanted it for quite some time and it’s kind of gone back and forth,” Neubauer said. It’s nice to see an option for people that’s in town. They don’t have to drive all the way to Bend to get the products that they want.”
Customers in the store seemed happy to have a store more near to them.
“A lot of us have been having to travel all the way to Bend. It’s a half hour trip. It’s great to have a shop here. They have a great selection. The atmosphere is so cool,” Wendy Gatlin said.
Neubauer also said many of Oregrown’s products are grown locally, which gives them a large selection for customers.
We have a farm in Tumalo where we grow in living soil which is an organic grow methodology,” Neubauer said. “Our vape line is also made in Tumalo, so we’ve got quite a few products here that come directly from our farm in Central Oregon. Then we work with a lot of other producers and processors throughout the state.”
Neubauer said any products they sell from other parts of the state are vetted, specifically for their growing methodologies and their business practices. Neubauer said this helps ensure other venders can be well represented on the shelves.
Oregrown is located at 2127 S Hwy 97, Suite 110. The next dispensary coming to Redmond will be The Flower Room, which is expected to open in June of 2026.
