NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — Prosecutors charge a Seneca woman after she allegedly provided marijuana to her underage daughters.
According to court documents, a man told Seneca Police that his juvenile daughters, who are 13-years-old and 15-years-old, had been placed on probation. During a routine drug test, the girls tested positive for THC.
The man told police he believed the girls received the marijuana from their mother, Patricia Cotten.
Court documents say he provided police with his daughter’s phone, where they found messages and pictures between Patricia and the girl. Several of the pictures allegedly included “large amounts” of marijuana, dated December 2, 2025, with a geographically tagged location showing the picture was taken at “home”.
Police also found a photo of the girls and Cotten’s 11-year-old son smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette.
There were also several videos of the juveniles showing them in possession of marijuana while at Cotten’s house.
Prosecutors charged Cotten with delivery of 35 grams or less of marijuana to a person less than 17YOA and two years younger.
