Cincinnati has collected more than $2.5 million in tax revenue on the sale of recreational marijuana, ranking second among nearly 100 Ohio communities where such sales are legal, according to recently released figures from the Ohio Department of Taxation.
Columbus topped the list, raking in more than $4.5 million in marijuana excise taxes since sales of marijuana for recreational use began at licensed dispensaries in August 2024. Ohio has nearly 200 dispensaries licensed to sell both recreational and medical marijuana.
