SHELDON—A 43-year-old Sheldon woman was arrested about 9:55 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, on charges of first-offense operating while under the influence and second-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana.
The arrest of Sarah Lynn Goodwin stemmed from the stop of a 2001 Buick Park Avenue for multiple traffic infractions on West Eighth Street near Nestor Avenue in Sheldon, according to the Sheldon Police Department.
Goodwin had bloodshot/watery eyes, impaired balance and the odor of an alcoholic beverage and failed field sobriety tests.
She admitted to marijuana use and drinking, according to the incident report.
THC wax was found during a search of the vehicle, and Goodwin had wax in her pants.
A drug recognition expert’s evaluation determined Goodwin was impaired by cannabis.
